This activity is best for kids ages 6 and up!

This activity is virtual and requires you to provide your own supplies -fabric, good scissors, and ruler. Families who sign up for this event will receive a separate email with detailed instructions and further information about our nonprofit partner and how we can help! Please feel free to do this activity when most convenient for your family. We ask that you plan to drop off donations no later than December 14th so we can have them delivered to SEARCH in time for holiday distribution.

This holiday season let's make no sew blankets for SEARCH Homeless to distribute to its clients. SEARCH provides hope, creates opportunity, and transforms lives for thousands of men, women, and children who are trying to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Houston. SEARCH Houston's Mobile Outreach team is in need of blankets to distribute to individuals living on the streets who are experiencing homelessness this holiday season.

As we approach the winter season and cooler weather, SEARCH has begun to prepare to address concerns about temperature among folks living on the streets as well as in the classrooms at SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures preschool for kiddos impacted by homelessness during naptime. In the latter case, HTT needs to leave its doors open for safe ventilation during COVID-19 but also want to keep its students warm! They would really appreciate Generation Serve’s help creating up to 75 “no-sew blankets” like this

You can drop off the no-sew blankets to our Generation SERVE bins at HCRJ, 801 Bering Drive, 77057.
