This activity is for all ages!
This activity is virtual and requires you to provide your own supplies - large ziplock bags and an assortment of nonperishable snacks (see list below). Families who sign up for this event will receive a separate email with detailed instructions and further information about our nonprofit partner and how we can help!
Generation SERVE is partnering with the Greater Houston Community Foundation for Family Philanthropy Day! Let’s volunteer for our nonprofit partners Books Between Kids or SEARCH Homeless on November 1st and then you are invited to join us for a live discussion about volunteering and philanthropy for Family Philanthropy Day on November 7th! You can learn more HERE!
SEARCH HOMELESS VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY FOR FAMILY PHILANTHROPY DAY:
SEARCH provides hope, creates opportunity, and transforms lives for thousands of men, women, and children who are trying to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Houston. SEARCH Houston's Mobile Outreach team is in need of snack packs to distribute to individuals living on the streets who are experiencing homelessness. You will choose 3 or more easy-open protein items from this list, and place them in Ziploc bags to create snack bags. You can also write encouraging notes to go in each pack. Please click here for more details. You can drop off donations to our Generation SERVE bins at HCRJ, 801 Bering Drive, 77056, or there will be a drive thru drop off for Family Philanthropy Day on November 7th from 1:00-2:00 at the Books Between Kids Warehouse.
