Our Houston community is so saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura. Let's help our neighbors by making hurricane relief kits.
You can make adult hurricane relief bags with items like adult socks, toothbrush, nonperishable food, water, etc, You could also make kids bags with similar items but adding a small toy, ball, coloring book and crayons. The items can be placed in large ziplock bags. Other needed items for donation include:
PPE, pet supplies, baby supplies, N95 masks for toxic cleanup, paper towels, bleach, garbage bags, toilet paper, bug spray, zero prep food such as drinking water, dry cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned juice, canned pasta, canned beans, peanut butter, bread, crackers, nuts, granola and energy bars.
You can also make cards and notes to place in the relief kits to show our neighbors how much we care and want to help.
Please plan to drop off your kits to our Generation SERVE bins at HCRJ, 801 Bering Drive, 77057, and we will ensure the kits are properly delivered to those in need of hurricane relief.
