This activity is best for children ages 6 and up.

This activity is virtual and will be done from your home.  Families who sign up for this event will pick up supplies and will be sent instructions to join a Zoom call to learn about our nonprofit partner and how we can help!

BridgeYear puts on Career Test Drive Fairs at high schools throughout Houston where students engage in hands-on activities allowing them to "try on" different careers. BridgeYear seeks to connect students to viable and accessible career opportunities so that all students graduate from high school with a path to gainful employment.

BridgeYear needs support from our Generation SERVE volunteers to create Career Kits, hands-on career simulations that students complete from home. In this time of distance learning and limited field trips or career fairs, BridgeYear wants to bring meaningful and engaging forms of career exploration directly to students. Generation SERVE volunteers are needed to help put these Career Kits together.

Our Generation SERVE volunteer families will pick up supplies to create the Career Kits on November 12 or 13 between 10am-5pm from BridgeYear, located at 5250 Gulfton St. #2E, Houston 77081. Then, on the activity day, please join BridgeYear and us for a brief Zoom call for detailed instructions and demonstrations. Our volunteers will put together the career kits from their homes that BridgeYear will distribute to the many students who will learn about career paths after high school. Drop off will be to BridgeYear or to our Generation SERVE bins.
