This activity is for all ages!

This activity is virtual and requires you to provide your own suppliesFamilies who sign up for this event will receive a separate email with detailed instructions and further information about our nonprofit partner and how we can help!

You can help make this holiday season extra special for each of the 5,000 seniors served by Meals on Wheels of Greater Houston!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 Reusable Gift Bag

The process of distribution of these wonderful gifts to our seniors can result in a paper gift bag losing its handles and tearing. We have an idea to help! Make a reusable bag part of your gift! Not only will it ensure that your gift is delivered intact, but that reusable bag is an additional gift item for our seniors to enjoy!

2 Gifts of Needed Toiletries

Most frequently requested by our seniors:

bar soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, facial tissues, pill case/sorter,

lotion – no more than 10 oz. (no pump bottles, please, as they may leak in transit). To help get these items to MOW seniors as seamlessly as possible, please only include the sizes of items as they are listed. We want to make sure all 5,000 of our seniors can receive something special this holiday season and the MOW sleighs can’t hold quite as much as Santa’s!

1 Warm & Cozy Gift

Most frequently requested by our seniors:

blanket, scarf, socks, towel set of washcloth & bath towel

1 Fun Gift

Most frequently requested by our seniors:

playing cards, stress ball, jigsaw puzzle, fidget spinner/handheld fidget toy,

activity book & colored pencils (such as crossword puzzles, word finds, color-by-number, etc.)

1 Gift for Wellness

Most frequently requested by our seniors:

hand sanitizer – no more than 10 oz. (no pump bottles, please, as they may leak in transit)

masks (cloth or disposable)

You can also include a homemade Happy Holiday Card! Because

of the religious diversity of Meals on Wheels' many clients, it is not appropriate to deliver cards that represent one particular faith such as “Merry Christmas”, “God Bless You” or “ Happy Chanukah." Please say "Happy Holidays" instead.

Assembled Gift Bags can be delivered to our Generation SERVE Bins at HCRJ, 801 Bering Dr., 77057 or directly to Meals on Wheels – 3202 San Jacinto St., Houston, TX 77004 now until December 4th during the following times: Monday – Thursday, 11 am – 1 pm, or Friday, 9 am – 1 pm

Detailed instructions and additional educational resources will be sent to you after sign up.
