This activity is for all ages!

This activity is virtual and requires you to provide your own supplies - bag, paper, markers, crayons or stickers, Chanukah gelt, dreidel. Families who sign up for this event will receive a separate email with detailed instructions and further information about our nonprofit partner and how we can help! Please feel free to do this activity when convenient for your family. Because Chanukah begins the evening of December 10th, we ask that you please drop off your gift bags and cards by December 8th.

Chanukah begins this week! Because our seniors have to stay home to stay safe and many cannot have visitors, let's help brighten spirits and celebrate the season by making Chanukah Cards and gift bags for the seniors at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, the largest not-for-profit, non-sectarian, long-term care campus for the aged on the Texas Gulf Coast.

To make the gift bags, you will need a Chanukah bag (or you can decorate your own), a homemade card, and you can include in the bag Chanukah gelt and a dreidel. To make a handmade card, you will need construction paper, markers, crayons or stickers you may have at home. If you would like, you can also include a crossword or suduko puzzle in your cards. Here are links for some free printables. Link 1Link 2. Please make as many bags as you would like.

You may drop off completed gift bags and cards to:

Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism

801 Bering Drive

Houston, TX 77057
