Feel free to do this activity when most convenient for your family.
Join Generation SERVE to assemble welcome bags for Ashley, a 3-year old child from HeartGift who has traveled to Houston for heart surgery. HeartGift provides lifesaving heart surgery to children from around the world where access to specialized care is either scarce or nonexistent. We will assemble a HeartGift welcome bag for Ashley and her mom Kenia, and will make welcome signs and cards to keep their spirits up and brighten their days in the hospital.
Volunteers will need small poster board and markers to make welcome signs and construction paper and markers for welcome cards and get well soon cards! If you would like to help more, here is a list of additional items we would love to have to make Ashley and Kenia's stay more comfortable and welcoming. Please email us at email@example.com with any items you would like to contribute...
- fun activities for their 10 day quarantine period (Ashley likes Barbies and cars especially)
- gently used or new stroller for a 3 year old
- gently used clothing for Ashley (size 3T and European shoe size 23) and mom Kenia (size 4, Small, and shoe size 7)
- Honduran food staples to include in a welcome basket for the host family to make.
Please plan to drop off your signs, cards, and any welcome items you wish to contribute by April 8 so we can get these to HeartGift before Ashley arrives April 9th. Thank you!
