Houston, TX 77042
This activity is best for ages 12 and up.
This is a modified, in person volunteering opportunity. Detailed instructions and educational resources will be sent to you upon registration. You will meet with our nonprofit partner directly for the service opportunity onsite. A COVID waiver from both Generation SERVE and our nonprofit partner will be required. Please be sure to review our Generation SERVE waiver HERE and return your signed copy to email@example.com.
Please join West Houston Assistance Ministries for its Backpack Buddy Food Fair Pop Up Event. Volunteers will distribute food and school supplies to families. Tasks may include unloading a truck, unpacking and organizing food and supplies, and helping load supplies. Please note that you will be outside so please dress comfortably for the weather and wear closed toe shoes.
Face masks must be worn at all times. The health and safety of volunteers is a number one priority, so all volunteers must be masked for their shift and social distance.
WHAM requests that volunteers also sign-up on Sign-Up Genius via the link below.
Note that the food fair runs from 1:00-6:00. You may go as early as 1:00 for this activity or as late as 3:30. Please email us to let us know how many service hours to credit.

We appreciate your support! Generation SERVE engages children in volunteerism and empowers them to make a difference in their communities. Join us as a Houston Family Sponsor and help us inspire a generation of community-inspired leaders in Houston.
Generation SERVE updated mask policy- Masks are optional for all participants at outdoor volunteer events, unless a partner organization requires otherwise. Because children under 12 are not yet eligible for vaccination, masks are required for all Generation SERVE participants and activity leads at indoor activities.
