We are thrilled to be partnering with Carrying Hope, which gives Hope Packs filled with comfort items and necessities to every child entering the foster care system in Texas. Our Generation SERVE Volunteers can help make Hope Packs from home! A Hope Pack is a backpack or diaper bag filled with comfort items and essentials intended to help ease the transition for children who are entering a new foster home. Our goal is to offer items that a child entering foster care would either need or could find comfort in during those first 48 hours in care — you would be amazed what a fresh pair of jammies and a soft teddy bear can do for a child in crisis. Hope Packs also allow foster parents to focus solely on a child in those first crucial hours and days instead of rushing out to the store. Hope Packs are distributed directly to CPS as well as to foster care agencies all over Central Texas.
Here is what you will need to make a Hope Pack:
You can drop off completed Hope Packs to at 8556 Katy Freeway, Suite 104, during office hours, which are 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.
