Activity Description

SERVE at Home is a way for your family to spread kindness and help our community on your own, anytime, anywhere! We want to keep Houston volunteering all week long!

The students at House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) are having their back-to-school and family photos taken by a photographer volunteering his time in October! The teachers would love to provide each student with decorated picture frames to put their photos in. Get creative with your family decorating some picture frames for these sweet students! You can color the frames, add stickers, use some washi tape, or glue little decorative flowers on the frames!

You will need to provide the supplies for this activity. You can complete this activity on your own anytime during the month.

Activity Directions

Supplies needed:

  • 4x6 paper photo frames, like these
  • Markers, paint, or crayons
  • Stickers, stamps, washi tape, or other art supplies you may have at home

Please try to decorate 3-5 photo frames. Please complete and deliver these frames before September 30, 2022.

Drop-Off Options:

1) Drop off your frames directly at House of Tiny Treasures (2323 Francis St., Houston, TX 77004)

You will need to contact the Volunteer Coordinator Molly Connor at mconnor@SEARCHhomeless.org to schedule a drop-off time. Generally speaking, their appointment hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Tuesday-Friday.

2) Drop off your frames at Generation SERVE's storage unit located at CubeSmart. You can leave items at the front desk in bags labelled for Generation SERVE. Please make sure they are aware the items are for Unit #1201. The front office is open Monday-Friday from 9:30am-6pm, Saturdays from 8:30-5 and Sundays 11-3.

More About Our PartnerMore About Our Partner

SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) is a nationally accredited preschool program that provides developmentally focused early childhood education to children, aged 2 – 5 years, who have experienced homelessness. Nutritious meals, education, and intensive art, play, and speech therapy address students’ needs and prepare them to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. By investing in these at‐risk children, HTT is striving to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

SEARCH provides hope, creates opportunity, and transforms lives for thousands of men, women, and children who are trying to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Houston.
