This activity is for all ages! This is a virtual activity and requires you to provide your own supplies. Austin and Houston families will join a zoom call with a Generation SERVE Activity Lead to learn how to make these homemade dog treats for our nonprofit partners.

Activity Description

Many of the clients of Heights Interfaith Ministries have dogs, and love them dearly. You can help keep the pups happy by making homemade dog treats! Just a heads up - the recipe used in this activity requires you to use peanut butter.

This activity will be done from your home and you will need to provide ingredients (1/3 cup pumpkin puree • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter • 1 cup flour)

Families who sign up for this activity will receive a separate email with a Zoom link to the online introduction and discussion with a Generation SERVE Activity Lead. You can complete the project on your own time after the Zoom meet up.

Please plan to drop off the finished treats to our nonprofit partner Heights Interfaith Ministries(HIM) the following week during the following times:

Wednesday - 9am - 3pm

Thursday - 9am - 12 noon

Fridays - 12 noon - 3pm

You can call to confirm they are available: 832 378 5444

More About Our Partner

Heights Interfaith Ministries is a “Client Choice” Pantry, which means that its clients make their own food selections with the help of volunteers. HIM provides meat, eggs, produce and toiletries with each order, and serves all who seek help residing in the Houston area. The dog treats we are making will be given to the clients for their pets.

Activity Requirements

  • This activity is great for all ages!
  • Our program is designed to be a family experience. We require an adult participant to attend the virtual gathering and to work alongside their child for all our Family Volunteering activities.
