Activity Description

Help deliver meals to the clients of Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston (ERJCC) on Thanksgiving Day!

Activity Requirements

  • This activity is great for all ages. A driver who is at least 18 years old must be present.
  • If this is your first time delivering Meals on Wheels for ERJCC, please complete their policies & procedures form before you sign up for a route!
  • You will need to sign up 1 driver per family to deliver food on the ERJCC registration page:
  • Generation SERVE adheres to the following COVID-19 policies to help keep your family and ours safe. We will continue to respect our partners' mask requirements as well as your family's decision around wearing masks.

Activity Directions

  1. Drivers must be at least 18. We provide the coolers and google maps directions, but a using GPS is highly recommended.
  2. Meal pickup is 8:30 am at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center (5601 S Braeswood Blvd). Enter the second entrance on Atwell and drive through the cul de sac at the front of the building.
  3. Client names and address will be provided at the time of meal pickup along with any special instructions. 
  4. Deliveries will take around one hour. Once you complete them, please bring the bag/cooler back to the
  • Delivery Note: If a client isn't home when you deliver, please make sure to call them in case they can't hear the door. If you can't reach them, you may give the meal to another person on your route. Please don't bring meals back to the JCC, as unfortunately it will be too late for the JCC to get it out to someone else.

The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC Meals on Wheels program serves homebound seniors living in Southwest Houston which includes West University Place, Southside Place, Gulfton, Shenandoah, Braes Timbers, Meyerland, Almeda, Braeburn Terrace, City of Bellaire, Brays Oaks, Fondren, Central Southwest, Willow Meadows, Willowbend, Braeswood Place, and Westbury.
