Please park and head to the new Education Building for your volunteer shift. Our Generation SERVE activity lead will meet you there!

Activity Description:

Help keep the dogs and cats at the Harris County Pets entertained while they wait for their fur-ever homes! Your family will make items such as dog or cat toys, including a family favorite - catnip roses for the kitties! After the activity, go say hi to all the adoptable cats and dogs!

Feel free to bring your pet's favorite dog treats (unopened) as a gift for their friends in the shelter.

Activity Requirements

  • This activity is great for all ages.
  • Because the shelter requires you to be over 16 for direct animal interaction, you will not be directly interacting with the animals. We usually get a wonderful tour to meet the animals we will be helping!
  • Generation SERVE adheres to the following COVID-19 policies to help keep your family and ours safe. We will continue to respect our partners' mask requirements as well as your family's decision around wearing masks.

More About Our Partner

Harris County Pets, resourced by Harris County Public Health, offers a safe haven to hundreds of lost, neglected and abandoned animals. Harris County Pets works in partnership with the community to create a secure, healthy, and caring environment for all the animals in their care until they are adopted into loving homes.

Support Generation SERVE

We provide supplies and an Activity Lead for every activity. A $30 donation would help us cover the costs for this activity! You also can become a family sponsor to support us in providing fun volunteer opportunities for other families! Thank you for your support and generosity! We appreciate it!
