Tend to Beauty's Community Garden

Activity Description

Help beautify and tend to Beauty's Community Garden! Beauty’s Community Garden provides a fresh approach to healthy living through urban gardening. You might be helping clear out weeds, harvesting, planting new seeds, working the compost, or any helping with other gardening tasks. This garden is part of the Urban Harvest Community Garden Program.

Activity Requirements

• This activity is great for children ages 12 & up.
• Please print and sign these forms (Authorization for Use of Image or Likeness and Beauty's Garden Liability Waiver) and bring them with you to the garden. If you are unable to print the forms, the garden will have copies for you to sign there.
• Please fill out the Urban Harvest Media Release form.
• Wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. If you would like gardening gloves, please bring them. Other gardening tools will be provided.
• Bring your own water bottle, hat, and sunglasses. Sunscreen and mosquito repellent is also recommended. 
• Generation SERVE adheres to the following COVID-19 policies to help keep your family and ours safe. We will continue to respect our partners' mask requirements as well as your family's decision around wearing masks.

Beauty's Community Garden is a nonprofit community garden, with a mission to close the gap on food inequities while achieving a community culture of health and well-being. They donate fresh produce to seniors and families of Independence Heights and surrounding areas, host gardening classes, healthy cooking demos, and provide nutrition education. 

Urban Harvest Community Garden Program's mission is to create thriving communities and increase access to fresh and local food. Our Community Gardens program provides resources and education to over 160 affiliate gardens – supporting communities in growing their own food and creating sustainable greenspaces.
