SERVE at Home is a way for your family to spread kindness and help our community on your own, anytime, anywhere! We want to keep Houston volunteering all week long! Let's make self-care packages for Children's Assessment Center to distribute to its clients.
For this activity, you will work with your family at home to assemble self-care packages for the Children's Assessment Center to hand out to their clients. Self-care packages include items, like fidget toys, which help clients and caregivers de-stress while processing difficult information with forensic staff. Fidgets help clients manage their anxiety, regulate emotions, and are also used as a grounding technique.
You will need to provide the supplies for this activity. You can complete this activity on your own anytime during the month.
- This activity is great for all ages.
- You can include any items you wish to purchase and place them in Ziploc bags.
- You can also write encouraging notes to go in each package.
- ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE STORE PURCHASED.
