Activity Description
SERVE at Home is a way for your family to spread kindness and help our community on your own, anytime, anywhere! We want to keep Houston volunteering all month long! You can complete this activity at any time during the month.
For this activity, you will work with your family at home to assemble hygiene packs for BEAR to give to abused or neglected children. These personal hygiene items help create normalcy and keep each child healthy when transitioning into CPS care.
You will need to provide the supplies for this activity. You can complete this activity on your own anytime during the month.
Activity Directions
Please put the following items in a gallon ziplock bag according to age and seal the bag to prevent leakage when you are done. BEAR asks that all hygiene items be full size. Please do not use travel size.
Supplies:
Girl/Boy Hygiene Packs:
§ 2-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner (full size)
§ Bar Soap
§ Individual Tooth Brush
§ Tooth Paste
§ Deodorant
Baby Hygiene Packs:
§ Baby Lotion
§ Baby Shampoo/Wash
§ Baby Powder
§ Destin/Diaper Ointment
You can purchase supplies for and make as many hygiene kits as your family is able to donate. We recommend making 6 hygiene kits, but any amount you can put together is appreciated.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you choose to create hygiene packs on BEAR’s behalf, please make sure that this Virtual Volunteer Form is completed and attached to your donation when it is dropped off at BEAR HQ. You may also complete the form and send it via email.
All donations are tax deductible! Complete this in-kind donation form and return it with your donation in order to receive a formal ‘thank you’ and tax letter.
Drop-Off Address: BEAR Headquarters, 3572 East TC Jester Blvd., Houston TX 77018 in the Brookwood Business Park. The building complex sits between the Oaks Dads’ Club (baseball fields) and the railroad tracks, just before the post office. BEAR is open Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. No appointment necessary. BEAR asks that all individuals enter through our back entrance. There are 3 bay doors which roll up as well as a pedestrian door with a BEAR sign on it. Upon entering there, you will see the donation table on the left for items to be easily dropped along with your in-kind donation form.
