Activity Description

SERVE at Home is a way for your family to spread kindness and help our community on your own, anytime, anywhere! We want to keep Austin volunteering all week long! Please RSVP on our calendar so we can let our non-profit partner know how many items to expect.

Generation SERVE volunteers are stafffing the water aid station at mile 15 of the The Austin Marathon! Help our volunteers cheer on runners by creating signs they can hold while encouraging the runners!

You will need to provide the supplies for this activity. Signs need to be completed and delivered to the Generation SERVE Office by February 15.

Activity Directions

Supplies needed:

  • Posterboard
  • Markers or crayons
  • Stickers, stamps, or other art supplies you may have at home

Signs should be motivational, funny, and lettering should be LARGE! Here are some ideas to get you started!

  • Go RANDOM stranger! I trained for months to hold this sign.
  • What does the FOX say? Run, Run, Run, Run
  • You are strong! You got this!
  • More than half way there!
  • May the course be with you
  • Because 26.3 would just be crazy!

You could also make a giant "High 5" hand in the likeness of the Generation SERVE logo using cardboard. You can find the logo HERE!

When finished, you can drop off your sign at the Generation SERVE office.

Drop-Off Address: 5555 N. Lamar Blvd., C-123, Austin, TX 78751

More About Our Partner

Presented by High Five EventsThe Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K will fill Austin’s streets on February 18th, 2024. Runners are treated to experience Austin at its best. They race along open roads that pass iconic landmarks such as UT Tower, The I Love You Mural and Lady Bird Lake. Runners enjoy miles of Austin unique neighborhoods such as South Congress and Hyde Park and are greeted by cheering crowds. As they close in on the finish line in front of the Texas State Capitol on historic Congress Ave the action is captured by Live coverage and displayed on jumbotrons in the festival.

The Austin Marathon has grown to be the 25th largest marathon in the USA since its start in 1992. This iconic race attracts top endurance athletes from around the globe. The team and charity program attracts many tech companies and industry leaders that call Austin home.
